The Magic is one of cruise giant Carnival’s newest ships as it was built in 2011. The 130,000 gross ton ship underwent a multi-million dollar renovation and refurbishment during a two-week dry dock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, Bahamas. The upgrades include many of the onboard features and venues found on other Carnival ships: poolside venues like Guy’s Burger Joint, Red Frog Bar, the Alchemy Bar, as well as new ones like Redford Rum Bar, BlueIguana Tequila Bar, Pizzeria del Capitano and the Alchemy Bar.
The four-year-old Carnival Magic already boasts a wide array of onboard features: the SportSquare outdoor recreation area with the first-of-its-kind ropes course- a suspended ropes course offering cruisers views of the sea 150 feet below; Sports Track with an 800-foot-long jogging path, a 22,750-square-foot Cloud 9 Spa with a thalassotherapy pool, a massive WaterWorks aqua park highlighted by a 312-foot-long Twister slide and tons more.
Carnival Magic will continue its seven-day Caribbean service from Galveston, Texas through April 10. Then it will operate a three-day getaway to Nassau, April 20-23 before its repositioning to Port Canaveral for weeklong cruises beginning April 23.
Carnival Magic’s eastern Caribbean itinerary from Port Canaveral will include St. Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk and Nassau or Amber Cove while western Caribbean route visits Cozumel, Belize, Roatán’s Mahogany Bay and Costa Maya.
