The Newest Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship to Debut Early

The New Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship, Symphony of the Seas, will debut ahead of schedule.

Billed as the largest cruise ship in the world, Symphony of the Seas is set to make its debut earlier than planned, and its first sailing is departing three weeks earlier than expected.

Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas is the line’s fourth Oasis-class ship. The ship will be the world’s largest cruise ship when it launches. It will feature new-to-the-line cabin categories, restaurants, and entertainment venues, as well as a revamped Boardwalk.

The earlier launch date will allow Symphony of the Seas to sail three additional voyages.

Key West PlansTo Reopen For Tourism On October 20

Royal Caribbean says Key West could open for tourism by Oct. 20.
According to Royal Caribbean, Key West’s government official said the popular destination to open for tourism in just over a month. Andy Newman, CEO of media relations for the Monroe County Tourist Development Council, confirmed that Key West has set October 20 as a target date for reopening Florida Keys city visitors. Newman added that it could be sooner.

Hurricane Irma cancels cruises, ships return early. Port Canaveral closes Saturday.
Florida faces the ‘most catastrophic storm’ it has ever seen in the coming hours as Hurricane Irma prepares to unleash tornadoes, a 15ft sea surge, flooding and 130mph winds.
Irma caused widespread cruise cancellations. The cruise ship companies Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, and Norwegian had to cancel cruises or change itineraries because of the hurricane. All the cruise lines have offered either reimbursement or credit towards future cruises for travelers affected by the last-minute change. Continue reading →
