An 8-year old boy is in critical condition after nearly drowned in a pool on Royal Caribbean cruise ship. The accident happened on Thursday evening at eight to 10 miles off the coast of Breezy Point, Queens, according to officials. Crew members were alerted on Thursday evening that a boy needed medical attention after he was found unconscious at the bottom of one of the ship’s swimming pools. Coast Guard Senior Chief Steven Allard said that he boy remained in the water without oxygen for almost 18 minutes before being discovered by ship officials. Continue reading

Cruise Ship Crashes Into Alaska Dock
Multiple news sources have reported that Celebrity Cruises’ ship Infinity crashed into a dock in Ketchikan, Alaska . The accident happened between 2 pm – 2.30 pm June 3. No injuries were reported in the accident.
The city’s ports and harbors director Steve Corporon reportedly estimated the damage to the dock will cost between 2 and 3 million dollars to repair. Although the Coast Guard has not yet announced a determination of the official cause of the incident, there is information that winds in the area were reported to be gusting to around 45 miles per hour.
