New Carnival Horizon to Feature Dr. Seuss-Themed Water Park

Carnival’s newest ship will feature a Dr. Seuss-themed water park — a first for the line. Carnival President Christine Duffy and Dr. Seuss Enterprises President Susan Brandt made the announcement a few days ago.
The cruise giant said the upcoming Carnival Horizon will be the first in the fleet to have a Dr. Seuss-themed water park and slides. The new feature is inspired by the legendary children’s author, said from the cruise line.
To be named Dr. Seuss WaterWorks, Horizon’s water park area will be located on Deck 12 and will offer two distinctly different slides.

The First Ferrari-Themed Race Track at Sea Aboard the Brand New Norwegian Joy

A two-level Ferrari-themed course aboard the brand new Norwegian Joy was unveiled just a few days ago.
Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line announced a new partnership with Scuderia Ferrari that includes the development of a Ferrari-themed race on the top deck of the soon-to-debut Norwegian Joy. Scuderia Ferrari is the racing division of Italian carmaker.
The 3,850-passenger vessel that is designed specifically for the Chinese market also will feature a retail store next to the track that sells Scuderia Ferrari watches.
Located at the top of the luxury cruise ship, the Ferrari race track will accommodate up to 10 drivers who will be able to take a spin in electric go-carts at a time.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s New Ship Class Named Project Leonardo

Norwegian Cruise Line has named its new class of ships the Leonardo Project.

Although the cruise operator first announced its next generation project in February 2016, the company announced the name and showed first images at Seatrade Cruise Global 2017 in Fort Lauderdale only a few days ago. The Leonardo Project will consist of four ships, which will be built by Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. Continue reading
