Royal Caribbean’s Splendour to Become Thomson Discovery

Thomson takes Royal Caribbean’s Splendour of the Seas and renames it Discovery.

splendour of the seas thomson discoveryRoyal Caribbean prepares to hand over Splendour of the Seas to Thomson Cruises. The UK-based company and subsidiary of TUI Group announced that when the vessel joins their fleet next year, they will rename it to Thomson Discovery.

After the acquisition, the former Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship will replace Island Escape, so Thomson’s fleet will keep the total number of its ships to five. Continue reading

Carnival Corp. Orders Nine New Ships to be Built

However, the company did not specify which of its nine brands would use the vessels; other details were also absent, including the cost of the ships, their size or the timeline for their delivery. Oasis of the Seas – The Biggest Ship Ever to Be Based at Port Canaveral

Quantum_of_the_Seas_at_Meyer_WerftRoyal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas will leave Port Everglades and move to Port Canaveral for the winter 2016-2017 cruise season, officials from the cruise line announced Thursday. The enormous vessel, which cost $1.4 billion to build in 2007- 2008, will be the largest passenger ship ever to be based at Port Canaveral.
