Harmony of the Seas to be the World’s Largest Cruise Ship

Revitalized Freedom of the Seas returns to Port Canaveral

Widow sells home to live full-time on luxury cruise ship

800px-Crystal_Serenity_02Lee Wachtstetter, an 86-year-old widow from Florida, sold her five-bedroom home on 10 acres in the area of Fort Lauderdale and became a permanent luxury cruise ship resident for only $164,000 a year, according to Florida Today.

The widow used to love cruising with her husband and she promised him she would keep on the tradition. After her husband passed away, she took her daughter’s advice, decided to be on the move and to see the world while living in the lap of luxury. Continue reading

Snow is in the forecast aboard the new Norwegian cruise ship

800px-Norwegian_Cruise_Line_Norwegian_Spirit_05Details about the unique offerings coming aboard the new Norwegian Escape have been slowly released.

The cruise ship, which is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, will feature its first ever room full of snow. Dubbed Snow Room, the new feature is part of the Mandara Spa’s Thermal Suite, which Norwegian Cruise Line is billing as the largest at sea.

Disney Magic crew rescues Royal Caribbean passenger

554px-Lifebelt_in_WaterDisney Magic crew has staged a dramatic rescue of a guest on Royal Caribbean ship Oasis of the Seas who fell overboard from his liner during a luxury cruise and then holidaymakers spot him in water.

The incident happened last Thursday morning. The 22-year-old man was a guest of the world’s largest cruise ship, when suddenly he fell overboard just outside of Cozumel in Mexico. Luckily, the man was spotted by Scott Campbell, a passenger on board the Disney Magic, a Port Canaveral-based cruise ship, that was approaching the port for a scheduled port-of-call stop.
