The year’s most luxurious new cruise ship was christened in Monaco a few days ago.
Silver Muse is the latest and largest ship from ultra-luxury cruise line Silversea and first new ship for the company since 2009.
The 17-year-old Costanza Lefebvre, named the ship’s godmother, undertook the christening honors by breaking a bottle of champagne against the bow. The girl is the daughter of Silversea chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio. Among the guests attending the christening ceremony were Silversea Cruises’ Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio and company CEO Roberto Martinoli.
Constructed at a Fincantieri shipyard in Trieste in Italy, Muse is being pronounced one of the most luxurious cruise ships ever built. The mid-sized vessel at 40,700 gross tons accommodates 596 guests and 411 crew.
