Let me introduce you Aquatica

aquatica

Aquatica – Sea Word’s waterpark

Let me introduce you Aquatica – Sea Word’s waterpark! It is situated just 10 minutes south of downtown Orlando and 15 minutes away from Orlando International Airport and offers you plenty of ways for you to have fun! No matter if your idea of having a wonderful time is it to be serene or extreme – you will find the perfect way for entertaining there.

The one thing that only Aquatica, in the U.S., has, or should we say the two things, are the enormous wave pools:  the Cutback Cove and the Big Surf Shores. At Cutback Cove, you have waves rolling all the time, and the action is always high and at Big Surf Shores, the surf can be high or slow and easy. The two separate pools let you decide what kind of wave you feel like catching today.

Slide down the incredible Dolphin Plunge! Rush down the two enclosed tube slides that send you to the underwater world where a playful pod of beautiful black-and-white Commerson’s Dolphins are swimming. They are known for being playful and incredibly fast, you may well see them racing right alongside you as you zoom by.

Experience the all-new water thrill ride Omaka Rocka. Featuring half-pipe funnels and high-speed tubes that will splash and slide riders frontward and backward and even climbing the walls.

Make your way to the island in the center of Tassie’s Twisters and climb to the tower. When you get to the top incredibly fast tubes shoot you into a big big bowl where you will spin, and whirl, and swirl just until you make it to the lazy river.

If you prefer one more serene experience you should take a load off your feet: hop on a leisurely river ride down Loggerhead Lane. I’m sure it will bring you the feeling of luxury and serenity just like that of a limousine ride. This raft ride lets you see the amazing underwater world of the waterpark and meets you with the colorful exotic tropical fishes.

Aquatica also approaches you to sea inhabitants – you can see Commerson’s Dolphins, the star animals at Aquatica, which are known for their distinct markings, and for wanting to have fun all the time! They can race, play or even swim upside down all day! Other inhabitants, the adorable exotic fishes, almost like Ariel’s little friend – Flounder, who is in fact you can easily see in Disney World in Orlando, which is just about 15 miles to Aquatica, are coloring the beautiful lagoon, tucked away inside Aquatica.

5 ways to spend the Christmas holidays

If you are wondering where you could spend Christmas and the holiday season and what you could do some of these activities will help you choose. These activities, which are in Orlando locals and natives, are great for the holidays and I bet they will help add to your overall holiday fun.

The first one is Harry P. Leu Gardens Holiday House, which takes place from now to January 4th. This place will make you feel like you are in a traditional Christmas setting. You will be able to tour Leu Gardens with Orlando’s terrific Winter weather, and also to check out the Leu Garden house, which is all decked out in full Christmas attire. There you can see just how folks celebrated Christmas decades ago!

The second – Light Up UCF – until January 1st is the way how University of Central Florida is recreating the Winter Holidays in Florida southern style. They say Orlando is the city of magic, so if there isn’t enough snow for ice skating… ice skating rinks are build anyways! You will be able to enjoy outdoor ice skating at UCF, and besides there will be light shows every night along with rides and many more attractions near the Knight Plaza. An arctic slide will be waiting for you to ride 100 feet down!

The third icily event is ICE at Gaylord Palms Resort Orlando right through January 2nd. There you will find almost 2 million pounds of ICE, which produces a Christmas and Icy Wonderland. There are cozy igloos, a slide, and many, many ice-shaped sculptors to check out.

The Festival of the Seasons at Downtown Disney takes place until January 8th. This is one of the best places to stay during the December holiday season. No matter if you are a local Orlando resident or a visitor from out of town there is no way for you to be disappointed. Christmas and holiday décor will be all over the place and carolers, music performances, dances parties and more…

If Christmas makes you want to help someone in need you should visit the 12 bars of Christmas Pub Crawl in Downtown Orlando. This is a holiday party downtown like no other. You can bring a toy worth $20 at the door to donate or you can bring $20 and a portion will be donated The Hope Foundation. Enjoy free drinks with your ticket price along with additional drink specials at some of the best bars downtown.

These are just some of the Christmas events that are waiting for you in the city. You can reach them all easily enough from the airport or the port transportation with the car service.

Post Sandy

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with those affected by Hurricane Sandy!

Carnival Dream and Disney Dream

Because of the few changes in the Cruise schedules from Sandy, there ware two “Dreams” at Port Canaveral on Sunday. This is something we do not see often: Both Carnival Dream and Disney Dream where at the port. As you can see from the posted photos,  both “Dreams” where docked next to each other. The Port was busy since all  four cruise terminals on the North Side had ships. The speed of processing passengers trough Terminal 6 for the Carnival Dream was noticeable slower then usual and the line for dropping  the luggage took about 20 min. Now everything is back to normal at Port Canaveral.

Four Ships docked at Port Canaveral

Due to the changes in the Itineraries caused by Sandy , Port Canaveral was hosting “Two Dreams”. Both Disney Dream and Carnival Dream was docked next to each other.
